Business Details
We are Swindlers & Gentry, an energetic electric folk rock band specialising in ceilidh and barn dance music. Based in Cambridge and Hertfordshire, we have built a strong reputation over many years for delivering memorable events both nationally and internationally. Our performances are powered by a wide range of stringed instruments, woodwind, accordion, melodeon, and drums, creating a sound that is both authentic and electrifying. We pride ourselves on providing an experienced caller with every booking, ensuring that even those new to ceilidh dancing feel welcomed and guided throughout the evening. Our commitment to client satisfaction is evident in the glowing feedback we have received from weddings, festivals, and private parties across the UK and Europe. We come fully equipped with our own amplification and lighting rig, transforming any venue into a vibrant dance floor.
Whether it is a wedding, a birthday party, a May ball, or a school event, we tailor our music to suit the occasion and the audience. We have travelled as far afield as Belgium for festivals, demonstrating our willingness to go the extra distance for our clients. Our problem-solving approach means we adapt seamlessly to the unique demands of each event, as reflected in reviews that highlight our role in turning challenging evenings into resounding successes. We understand that every booking is a partnership, and we work closely with organisers to ensure their vision is realised. Our dedication to professional standards has earned us repeat bookings and recommendations from prestigious organisations like the Cambridge University Reel Club. Ultimately, our goal is to create an unforgettable experience where music and dance bring people together in joy and celebration.
