Ian Bursill - Wedding Photojournalist
Ian Bursill is a wedding photojournalist based in Lancashire, documenting weddings across the North West, the Ribble Valley, and the East Midlands. With 20 years' experience and over 450 weddings behind him, his approach is almost entirely unposed capturing the day as it actually happens, from the nervous laughter during the preparations to the chaos of the dance floor.

His work has been recognised at the highest level. He was named WPJA UK Photographer of the Year in 2009, ranked 1st in the UK, 2nd in Europe, and 3rd in the world by the Wedding Photojournalist Association, and won Best Wedding Photographer for the East Midlands at the UK Wedding Industry Awards in 2012, 2014, and 2015.

Ian photographs a maximum of 30 weddings per year, giving every couple the time and attention their day deserves. If you're looking for a photographer who documents rather than directs, his work speaks for itself.

About You
Report
The wedding photography market is more crowded than ever before.
Nowadays, everyone is a photographer, but do they have the eye, the experience and a calm approach for a one-off event?
You've spent hours trawling through endless websites to find a natural wedding photographer whose style, approach & ethos stands out and matches your requirements.
You want a photographer that captures the real essence of your wedding - the atmosphere, the wide range of emotions and moments, the funny moments and moments you didn't witness.

If you don't find an answer here, please get in touch and I'll come back to you as soon as I can or request a consult and ask me live.
My base is in Loughborough, Leicestershire but I work anywhere in the UK as I love working at new venues.
Travel expenses are included for most UK weddings but occasionally I may have to quote extra depending on the distances involved and the logistics of the wedding.
Working alongside another photographer would mean that my coverage of the day could become obtrusive.

I know this is cliche, but after the wedding, what are the only tangible things leftover that will evoke the memories of the day?
Cliche or not, you can't escape the fact that still or moving images are the only things that remain long after you've eaten the food, the flowers have wilted & died, and the band or DJ have stopped playing.
It's not a commodity.
If you're in your mid-twenties, how else can you look back at your wedding in 50 years with your children, grandchildren and maybe even your great-grandchildren and reminisce about the story of your wedding day?
